Titanium Plate

Product Introduction:

Titanium plate is a sheet made of titanium or titanium alloy as raw material, processed and formed through processes such as hot rolling and cold rolling. It belongs to non-ferrous metal materials and is widely used in the fields of construction, aerospace, and chemical engineering.
Product Category:

According to the composition, it can be divided into pure titanium plate and titanium alloy plate. The thickness range is usually 0.5-100mm, and special requirements can be customized to a width of 500mm. Its manufacturing follows national and American standards and other specifications.

Common brand:

Domestic grades: TA1, TA2, TA3, TA4, TA9, TA10, TC4, TC6, TC11.

International grades: Gr1, Gr2, Gr5, Gr7, Gr12, Gr23.

Production process:

Melting: Vacuum consumable arc furnace or plasma arc melting technology is used to ensure uniform alloy composition and low impurity content.

Forging and Rolling:

Hot rolling: temperature control at 800-950 ℃ to improve material uniformity;

Cold rolling: Room temperature rolling improves surface accuracy.

Heat treatment:

Solution treatment: Heating at 950-980 ℃ followed by rapid cooling to eliminate residual stress;

Time treatment: tempering at 480-650 ℃ to optimize the balance between strength and toughness.

Surface treatment: anodizing, shot peening or coating processes to enhance corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

Performance characteristics:

1. Physical and mechanical properties

High strength and lightweight: density of 4.5g/cm ³, TC4 titanium plate tensile strength of 895-1100MPa;

Thermal stability: The melting point is 1604 ℃, and the strength remains ≥ 450MPa at high temperatures of 600 ℃;

Low coefficient of expansion: 8.6 × 10 ⁻⁶/K, suitable for temperature fluctuation environment.

2. Chemical and Biological Characteristics

Corrosion resistance: The surface of the dense TiO ₂ oxide film is resistant to seawater and acid-base media;

Biocompatibility: Compliant with ISO 10993-5 standard, used for orthopedic implants and dental implants.

3. Processing characteristics

Process difficulty: Cold rolling requires high-strength equipment, and the temperature window for hot rolling is narrow;

Application areas:

1. Aerospace

Body and engine: TC4 titanium plate is used to manufacture engine blades and rocket structural components, reducing weight by more than 40%;

Thermal protection layer: TA15 titanium alloy is suitable for high temperature environments above 600 ℃.

2. Chemical and Ocean Engineering

Corrosion resistant equipment: TA2 pure titanium plate is used for reaction vessels, seawater desalination devices, and nuclear industry seals;

Electrolytic equipment: Titanium plates improve the efficiency of copper electrolysis without the need for separating agents.

3. Construction field

Alien roof: titanium board has excellent fire resistance, and the exterior walls of the Guggenheim Museum in Spain are fully covered;

Corrosive environment building: resistant to chloride ion corrosion, suitable for coastal building exterior walls.
