Titanium Storage Tank

Product Introduction:

Titanium storage tanks are corrosion-resistant containers made from titanium or titanium alloys, widely used in storage scenarios for highly corrosive media such as chemical, petroleum, and marine engineering.
Product Category:

1、 Classified by structure and purpose

1. Vertical/horizontal storage tank: suitable for atmospheric or low-pressure storage;

2. High pressure storage tank: Made of high-strength titanium alloy such as TC4, capable of withstanding pressures of ≥ 10MPa;

3. Special function storage tank:

Double layer vacuum storage tank: used for storing low-temperature media such as liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen;

Electrochemical storage tank: surface coated with ruthenium or platinum, suitable for electrolytic reaction scenarios.

2、 Classified by manufacturing process

Welded titanium storage tank: formed by rolled plate argon arc welding, low cost, suitable for low-pressure environments;

Seamless titanium storage tank: formed by hot extrusion or spinning process, with uniform wall thickness and better pressure resistance.

Common brand:

Brand: TA2 TC4、 TA10, Gr7

Production process:

1. Material Forming:

Cold rolling forming: The titanium plate is formed by a rolling machine, and the roller surface needs to be covered with a stainless steel protective layer to prevent surface contamination;

Hot rolling forming: Heating to above 800 ℃ for plastic processing, used for manufacturing complex curved storage tanks.

2. Welding process:

Argon shielded welding: The weld strength should reach more than 90% of the base metal, and the purity of argon gas should be controlled to be ≥ 99.999%;

Laser welding: used for ultra-thin wall storage tanks, reducing the heat affected zone by 50%.

3. Surface treatment:

Acid pickling passivation: cleaning with a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid to generate a dense TiO ₂ oxide film;

Sandblasting treatment: Improve coating adhesion and control roughness within Ra3.2-6.3 μ m.

Performance characteristics:

1. Corrosion resistance:

The resistance to urea corrosion is 10 times higher than that of ultra-low carbon stainless steel;

The annual corrosion rate in hydrogen sulfide environment is less than 0.005mm.

2. Mechanical properties:

The burst pressure of TC4 storage tank is ≥ 35MPa, which is 20% higher than that of steel storage tank;

TA2 storage tank has excellent low-temperature toughness.

3. Security features:

Non magnetic, avoiding the risk of electrochemical corrosion;

The self-healing ability of the oxide film can resist stress corrosion cracking.

Application areas:

Chemical industry: urea synthesis tower, hydrochloric acid storage tank;

Petroleum industry: offshore platform crude oil storage tanks, hydrogen sulfide gas containers;

Marine engineering: seawater desalination pretreatment tank, deep-sea equipment pressure vessel;

New energy: liquid hydrogen storage and transportation tanks, fuel cell electrolysis tanks;

Nuclear industry: nuclear waste storage tanks, coolant circulation containers.
